Hi everyone, I am sharing my first card of 2020, using one of Altenew’s first stamp sets with a few mixed media products.
I am trying to push myself this year by experimenting more with products I already have and having fun with colour.
Here is the list of all the items used to make the card.
- Altenew Spring Daisy Stamp and die set
- Altenew Tea Party Ink collection
- Altenew Evergreen Dye Ink
- Altenew Pure White embossing powder
- Gina K Amalgam Ink
- MISTI Stamping tool
- Distress Oxides
- Altenew Grid Stencil
- Nuvo Embellishment Mousse
- Foam Tape
- Tombow Mono Adhesive
I stamped all the outline images from the Spring Daisy Stamp set, on to white cardstock, using Gina K Amalgam Black ink.
The stamp set is a layering one, so I am using the layers to quickly build my images. I used my MISTI tool to get the layers lined up in the right orientation and stamped the flowers in Altenew coral bliss and heartbeat ink and the leaves in Evergreen Dye ink from Altenew.
Then cut everything with the coordinating dies and set them aside.
To create the background, I chose four colours of distress oxide – fozzilised amber, crushed olive, cracked pistachio and iced spruce and made a simple ink blended background.
To add some texture to the card, I am using Nuvo embellishment mousse in the cosmic brown colour and Altenew Grid Stencil, with the stencil hanging off the corner to make it more visually appealling.
After everything had dried- I can now assemble the card. I put pieces of foam tape on each die cut and created an arrangement I liked. To complete the card, I white heat-embossed the sentiment ‘Life is Beautiful’ from the same set on to a strip of black cardstock, using Atenew’s Pure White embossing powder and adhered it with foam tape to give a little dimesnsion.
I added some Crystal Glaze to the centre of the two largest flowers.
